Radius of Action
by DeWitt S. Copp
Radius of Action is a story of adventure, of love, evil, and the discoveries of dignity under the pressure of a fight for survival in the wilderness.
From a seedy, one man airport in the Northwest lumber country, an obsolete plane, flown by Collier, a pilot who considered himself an obsolete man, takes off with four passengers for a flight out over the mountains. Each of the five – four men and a woman – is burdened by serious personal problems, and each begins as a stranger to the others.
Human and mechanical failure combine with a blinding storm to force the plane down in a wilderness from which there is no escape until the winter freezes the surrounding swampland. Faced with a fight for their survival, each begins to shed the superficialities of civilized life and to reveal his basic nature.

The story that develops is one of violence, greed, love, failure, and heroism – adventure at its most exciting.
